Butter Lamp Prayer Ceremony on Guru Rinpoche’s Tsechu

October 2026

On October 21, 2026, corresponding to the 10th day of the 9th Tibetan lunar month—on the auspicious occasion of the Tsechu festival of the Great Master of Oddiyana, Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche)—a Butter Lamp Prayer Ceremony was held.
This ceremony was dedicated to the long life and robust health of His Holiness the Dalai Lama for hundreds of eons, as well as for the longevity of non-sectarian spiritual masters. For this purpose, the masters and monastic community of the Ngagyur Dundul Rapten Ling Monastery, along with the masters, monks, nuns, and laypeople from various local settlements, gathered to pray for all sentient beings throughout space to attain the state of complete enlightenment (Buddhahood). In particular, they prayed for the pacification of wars and conflicts across the world, and that all beings may continuously enjoy perfect peace and happiness.
We respectfully present herewith a few photographs of the Butter Lamp Prayer Ceremony in progress.
